Meet James Peake

James has provided educational origami programs and events to several hundred students in a range of venues over the past 15 years.  He is committed to providing learning experiences using origami to create a pathway to support both STEM and STEAM education, improve attention, and develop fine motor and problem-solving skills.

After graduating from Oberlin College in 2006, James served for 11 years as the Education Director with the Firelands Association for Visual Arts, where he curated the FAVA Folding Festival for over 8 years.  He also organized and hosted multiple origami gallery exhibitions featuring master paper folders. 

James has led countless educational origami programs and events for students young and old with organizations including the Cleveland Institute of Art, the Sandusky Cultural Center, the Cleveland International Film Festival, and the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft.

He is currently on the roster of teaching artists for the Center for Arts Inspired Learning, based in Cleveland, OH. 

The Foldspace Origami Studio was founded in 2017 as an art studio and teaching space for students of all ages.
